Sherri Shepherd has been in the news a lot lately. Six months ago rumors began surfacing that Shepherd was looking for other opportunities and didn't want to stay attached to “The View” when Barbara Walters exited. Tonight breaking news from E! Online surfaced about the status of Sherri Shepherd's future at “The View.” It appears that Shepherd will not be returning this fall for Season 18. What will this mean for the other co-hosts?

“The View” was created by Barbara Walters and was ahead of times when it began airing. Women sitting around a table talking about what is currently going on in our world and interviewing big names promoting new projects was the basic concept of the show. There have been several co-hosts since the beginning, and Sherri Shepherd spent several years at the table. While some fans will be sad to see her go, others have been getting a little tired of her since Jenny McCarthy joined “The View” last fall.

It looks like Sherri Shepherd won't be the only one leaving “The View” this year. Jenny McCarthy tweeted that she would be leaving right behind Shepherd, using the hashtag “sisters.” McCarthy has been a loud mouth when talking about the connection between Autism and having your children vaccinated at a young age. The news that McCarthy is leaving too is a little surprising since she just joined the cast. Is there more to the story?

Season 18 of “The View” will begin this fall. The only co-host who may return is Whoopi Goldberg, but that is not set in stone yet. Speculations will begin about who will be hired to fill the table, and fans are hoping they cast people who are relatable. Todd Chrisley from “Chrisley Knows Best” was a huge hit when he co-hosted, perhaps adding a man to the mix would drive the ratings up more?
