Michael David Parker, 45, of Sherman Oaks, Calif. is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday for felony animal cruelty, as well as felony animal neglect and a misdemeanor count of petty theft of a dog reported Friday's Daily Breeze.

The animal cruelty charge includes Parker using his car as a deadly weapon.

According to the Hawthorne Police Department, a surveillance video was turned into authorities by a resident who found the body of the tiny dog in an alley in Hawthorne.

The five-and-a-half-year-old chihuahua named Cow Cow belonged to Parker's estranged wife, and on January 3, Parker is alleged to have stolen the dog and intentionally took it to an alley to kill it. Parker and his wife were involved in a bitter divorce.

A terribly graphic video shows a man identified as Parker stopping his car in the alley, opening the trunk where the dog had been placed, and releasing the dog in the alley. Moments later, the car aims for the dog - running the defenseless little Cow Cow over.

The heartbreaking video shows Cow Cow suffering in the alley until he dies.

At the time, Parker told authorities he ran over Cow Cow by accident. He was arrested and had been freed after posting bond.

If found guilty, Parker faces more than five years in prison.

Cow Cow deserves justice.
