Abbington, who is playing the role of Mary, talks about the character being "sassy" and how much fun everyone had filming the episode. Abbington is the real life partner of actor Martin Freeman, who plays John Watson, and she was chosen for the part of Mary based on the "good chemistry" between the pair. She mentions how interesting it is to watch Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Sherlock, because they work so well together.

Mary is a very "strong and independent" character with a great depth to her and she is excited for fans to get to experience the new stories. She plays a much larger role in the third episode of the season called "His Last Vow", but fans should be ready for plot twist after plot twist. The wedding will include a speech from Sherlock which is both fascinating and awkward for everyone in the room.

"The Sign of Three" will air in the United States on Sunday, January 26 at 10 p.m. on BBC. Tune in to find out how Mary and John's wedding plays out and what mysteries Sherlock manages to uncover on their big day. The episode will also set up the new villain for the final episode after he leaves a trail for clues for both John and Sherlock.
