Oregon Linn County Sheriff, Tim Mueller, won't enforce new gun laws outlined by President Obama and Vice President Biden, CNN reports Jan. 16. The administration is aggressively putting gun control at the top of their list and they have quite a fight on their hands.
Mueller wrote a letter to Obama and Biden Jan. 14 stating that their proposals are "offending the constitutional rights of my citizens." He boldly stated that he wouldn't allow federal officers to come to Linn County and enforce the gun laws.
Mueller's stand on enforcing new gun laws has gained massive support on the department's Facebook page. In the letter, Mueller expresses his stance by writing that "politicians are attempting to exploit the deaths of innocent victims by advocating for laws that would prevent honest, law abiding Americans from possessing certain firearms and magazines."
Overall, Mueller is saying that politicians shouldn't allow the heinous acts of criminals to "infringe upon the liberties of responsible citizens who have broken no laws."
As Mueller concluded his letter, he added that he won't tolerate the "unconstitutional" actions of "misguided politicians" when it comes to his citizens.
