Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar Spa and Resort (Photos)

As our green summer escapes series continues, we decided to select yet another leading green resorts that is a short flight destination for San Francisco Bay Area residents.

Amidst 28 acres of lush tropical gardens and miles of pristine white sanded beach lies the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar.

The resort includes 270 guest rooms and 31 suites rooms, from ocean views to quiet gardens surrounding them.

The beautiful compounds at Sheraton Hacienda make this resort a favorite for many.

Sheraton Hacienda offers three main pools, a Cactus Spa, Children's Pool, Private Beach, Fitness Center, many dining options to name a few.
Guests can sunbathe at one of the three main pools, enjoy the many activities offered by the resort or go to nearby golf courses: 18-hole Desert Course or the spectacular 18-hole Ocean Course, a Jack Nicklaus design, voted one of the top 100 golf courses worldwide by Golf Magazine

A main attraction for vacationers is the Cactus Spa which offers a variety of treatments ranging from the classic Swedish massage to the signature Cactus facial. The spa is also equipped with a state-of-the-art fitness center overlooking the Sea of Cortez.
Fine dining is a key element at the Sheraton Hacienda and includes five restaurants and bars.
Veteran in the cooking industry is Executive Chef Manuel De Luca who oversees all the dining establishments. His authentic Mexican cooking concept is based on seasonal and fresh products with a spicy twist. He is an artist at heart who cherishes nature and what it has to give. His creations reflect his love for fine cuisine and Mother Earth.

Directly from Sheraton Paris, is new addition Chef Jose Salvador Campuzano Rosales who is in charge of the De Cortez restaurant.
Rosales brings a Mediterranean and sophisticated touch to the menu.
Under his watchful eye, we enjoyed a superb dinner of shrimp Napoleon, braised seabass and delectable chocolate mousse adorned with fresh fruits.

The food options at the resort range from buffets breakfasts and dinners, international menu featuring burgers, steak and seafood, to Pacific Rim cuisine.

Last but not least, we were happy to hear that Sheraton Hacienda has adopted sustainable practices ranging from High Efficiency lighting, water-conserving fixtures, smart irrigation practices, to a Make A Green Choice program rewards for guests.

The resort is beautiful, yet the rooms need a little sprucing up.
We hear that some renovation is scheduled for the near future and can’t wait to see the final result.

For more.

Special thanks to Chef De Luca and Chef Gonzales for accommodating us with our food restrictions.
