Though many people find it hard to believe, “Criminal Minds” star, Shemar Moore is in near constant contact with his fans on several social media websites. He shares all sorts of things about his personal life, and on occasion, he gives fans snippets of information about “Criminal Minds.” On Friday, Moore shared a photo of himself sporting the signature goatee of his “Criminal Minds” character, Derek Morgan, and told fans that the cast has begun filming season 10 of the show.
On top announcing that filming has begun for season 10, Moore also mentioned that there will be a brand new cast member this season. Earlier this month fans learned that Jennifer Love Hewitt, 35, will be joining the cast alongside Moore, Matthew Gray Gubler, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Kirsten Vangsness, Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna, and A.J. Cook. Hewitt will play Kate Callahan, whose work as an undercover agent has earned her a spot in the Behavioral Analysis Unit.
The announcement that Hewitt would be joining the cast raised a lot of questions for fans. After all, season 9 ended with both Derek Morgan and Dr. Spencer Reid (played by Matthew Gray Gubler) being shot, and a question as to whether or not Reid would survive. Some wonder if Hewitt is meant as a replacement for Dr. Reid, and many aren't thrilled with the idea.
“Criminal Minds” first aired on CBS in September 2005, and since then it has remained a fan favorite. In February 2014, “Criminal Minds” celebrated its 200th episode to air; joining other shows like "Mash" and "Friends" in the elite 200 episode club.
