Update 1/16/14: Sandy has been taken in by the rescue agency "Rescued Paws," and she now has a Petfinder profile, please click here to read.

Sandy is a beautiful, sweet Labrador retriever who is longing to leave the Cowlitz County Humane Society in Longview, Wash.

The two-year-old dog has been locked behind bars at the shelter facility since late July...during her stay, some people have assumed that she was adopted because they could not find her in the facility, or on the shelter's list of adoptable dogs.

According to the Friends of the Animals in the Cowlitz County Humane Society Facebook page, many of the dogs are not listed on the "adoptable" website and the shelter is so full that Sandy is not even on the adoption floor.

On Wednesday, a volunteer wrote the following about Sandy:

No she has been in the stray area as no room on adoption floor...too many dogs without homes.

It can be difficult for a homeless, sheltered dog to find a new family...harder yet if nobody knows that they are in need. Please take a moment to network Sandy's information to help her find a new guardian.
