Designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista presented his Womenswear and Menswear Lacoste Spring 2014 collections for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York on the runway on September 7, 2013 in New York City.
Portuguese Baptista does French founder René Lacoste’s legacy justice in this collection which offers up feminine creations featuring sheer, gossamer like paneling with opaque sections to preserve modesty in everything from suits to tunic dresses.
The Lacoste Spring 2014 color palette has its favorites such as blush pink, peach, peacock blue, beige, cinnamon brown, hunter green and white.
Sportier looks have simple lines and colorblocking for added interest, in particular a beige cropped top, teamed with a formfitting pencil skirt and varsity jacket style collars and detailing.
Lacoste Spring 2014 excels itself at several peacock blue pieces such as the cute skirt ensemble with matching sandals – actually anything could look awesome in that color – and the color appears a lot in this collection!
And then Baptista throws in a surprise by having a luscious pale pink full length coat for his Menswear collection, as teamed here with a peacock blue ensemble.
Even French model Clement Chabernaud was stylishly dressed in a gorgeous peacock blue coat and cinnamon pants.
Attending the Lacoste Spring 2014 fashion show in style were Crystal Kay, Marie Pascal, Hanneli Mustaparta, Leigh Lezark and Geordon Nicol. Enjoy the slideshow and the video…
