The Sheepdogs and Matt Matts have signed on as the latest artists scheduled to perform at the 2014 Juno Awards in Winnipeg, MB next month.
According to a press release posted Feb. 13 at JunoAwards.ca, the Platinum selling Saskatoon, SK natives and East Coast singer-songwriter were added to the roster today on the heels of City and Colours' abrupt cancellation last week.
The three-time Juno Award-winning rockers will make their second consecutive stage appearance at the event while Mays, a five-time Juno Award nominee, will make his debut stage appearance.
The 2014 Juno Awards will be held March 24-30 in Winnipeg with the awards ceremony scheduled to air live on CTV Sunday, March 30 from MTS Centre.
Juno performers scheduled so far include: Robin Thicke, Ryder, Tegan and Sara and Walk off the Earth.
Arcade Fire leads Juno nominees with six nominatons, closely tailed by Michael Buble and Toronto indie-rocker Serena Ryder with five nominations each, and by Celine Dion, Drake, Hedley, and Tegan and Sara, who each earned four.
Bachman-Turner Overdrive has been confirmed as the 2014 Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee.
Did you know? The Sheepdogs won three Junos in 2012 for Single of the Year ("I Don't Know"), Rock Album of the Year ("Learn & Burn") and Best Live Act while Matt Mays is five-time Juno nominee, which includes a 2014 nomination for Rock Album of the Year ("Coyote").
