On Monday, popular WWE star Sheamus won a 20 man battle royal to become the new United States champion. However, it appears that the battle royal was't the only fighting that the newly crowned champion Sheamus has been involved in. Backstage news has surfaced over the last few days that Sheamus recently was involved in a fight with Sin Cara. Reports initially stated that the fight took place at the SmackDown tapings on Tuesday, May 6. It appears that these reports may not be accurate.
According to a May 8 report by Wrestlezone.com, the fight between Sin Cara and Sheamus didn't take place this week but took place a few weeks ago. The report also went on to mention that Sheamus was fortunate things didn't get worse for him. It seems that the only things we can conclude from these reports is that there was an altercation and that Sheamus seemed to be on the wrong end of it.
On Wednesday May 7, WWE superstar Sheamus felt the need to publicly address these reports. The Celtic Warrior made the following comments about the fight via his Twitter page:
"Must be getting punchy. Don't remember being beaten up by Sin Cara backstage... It's just how Mexicans & we Irishmen hug it out fella ;)"
Over the last few months, speculations of a Sheamus heel turn have been running rampant on the Internet. Many fans have been waiting to see Sheamus turn to the dark side. However, it appears that's no longer the case. According to a May 7 report by WrestlingInc.com, Sheamus will be staying a face and is being positioned as one of the top faces in the company.
Along with Sheamus, the WWE is grooming Cesaro to be one of the top faces. It will be interesting to see how the WWE plans on separating Cesaro from his mouthpiece Paul Heyman. Currently, Cesaro is flirting with a heel persona as he recently mauled RVD in a match and got himself disqualified. Rounding out the list of top "good guys" are WWE champ Daniel Bryan and the face of the company John Cena. These four men will do their best to fight for truth, justice and all the little jimmies out there.
