Shayne Lamas suffers miscarriage in her 16th week of pregnancy

Tragedy strikes Shayne Lamas. The young star suffered a miscarriage of her second child caused from a pregnancy complication, according to People, Feb. 10, 2014.

Shayne, winner of Season 12 of “The Bachelor” is the daughter of Lorenzo Lamas. Reports say that she was rushed to the hospital after she collapsed at her home in Orange County, Calif. The doctors said that Shayne was bleeding internally around her uterus. She was in her 16th week of pregnancy.

Lorenzo told People, "We are so grateful that my daughter, Shayne Lamas-Richie, is conscious and stable. She is not in a coma, however, she did miscarry the child she was carrying." He further added, "Shayne is aware of her condition and that her family and her husband are here with her and love her so much. She will be remaining in the hospital until her doctors determine that she can be released."

Shayne is married to Nik Richie. They have one other child, two-year-old, daughter Press Dahl Lamas-Richie. Nik published a blog post on The Dirty, to say that he was going to take a few personal days off.
