Shayne Lamas breathing on her own and doing better

Good news for Shayne Lamas. A report from US Weekly on Feb. 11, 2014, states that Shayne is doing better. She no longer needs a ventilator system, because she is breathing on her own.

On Sunday, Shayne, 28, collapsed in her Orange County home. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered that she was bleeding internally around her uterus. Although they tried to save the baby, Shayne suffered a miscarriage due to pregnancy complications. She was in her 16th week of pregnancy.

Shayne's husband, Nik Richie, issued this statement to US Weekly. "We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the immense support we have received from our family, friends, fans, and media. It is really amazing how everyone has come together for Shayne, Press, and I during this extremely difficult time. We have high hopes for a speedy recovery. At this time we are still trying to process everything that happened and we thank everyone again for giving us this time to heal."

After Shayne and Nik were married in 2010, Press was born a year later. Press is the couple’s two-year-old daughter, born in November 2011. Shayne was on Season 12 of "The Bachelor." Shayne is the daughter of Lorenzo Lamas. Yesterday, he told People, "Shayne is aware of her condition and that her family and her husband are here with her and love her so much. She will be remaining in the hospital until her doctors determine that she can be released."
