Shay "Buckeey" Johnson may not be a regular cast member with a record, music video or band, but she is on "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta" for a reason.
Addressing rumors and drama surrounding her relationship with Lil Scrappy, Johnson says people can keep talking and writing on blogs. She's getting paid.
"You get a lot more negative than positive (reaction). I mean you don’t hear about the good things, it’s always negative, but as long as you keep speaking about me then its fine.. keep bloggin," says Johnson. "That let’s me know I'm doing a good job at what I'm doing."
So why is she on "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" ? According to Shay, affectionately dubbed "Buckeey" on "Flavor of Love," it's all about money and not fame.
"A lot a women out here want the fame before the money, I’m in this industry to make money. I like to live a certain way, there are certain things I like," she tells Up and Coming magazine just days after Mimi Faust said she might be opportunistic. "I enjoy being a celebrity, but at the end of the day it’s about a check. I’m trying to help my family. I mean I like the red carpets. I like hosting parties. I love it, but I’d rather have money and a check."
You can't knock her hustle in the end, but what else does "Buckeey" bring to the table on "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta ?" We'll just have to keep watching.
"Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. on VH1.
