Talk about your baby mama drama... but not the kind that would automatically come to ones mind.
The rapper and father of 11, Shawty Lo has recently come under fire relating to his reality show on the Oxygen network. With organizations going so far as to circulate a petition in attempts to have the reality show pulled from the networks spring line up.
Let's evaluate this, Shawty Lo, yes he has had a past, but hasn't everyone is hip-hop?
Rap music came from the streets of urban culture, songs of struggle and strength. Before the masses came in with their auto tunes and pop divas, hip-hop was the voice of urban America, allowing young men and women in the concrete jungle a poetic voice, that allowed others into their world. Artists such as Grandmaster Flash, Run DMC and Public Enemy paved the way for today's chart toppers. Rhymes about what their daily life endured, with everything from teen pregnancy, racism to political movements.
A man is supposed to take care of his children, and the mother (s), whether it be singular or plural. So here's the question, would you rather see 11 children struggle with mothers on welfare? Or watch a man support his children? Does it come down to the race card?
Other shows of polygamy are on the air, with multiple mothers and magnitudes of children. So what's the difference? Because Shawty Lo is black and a rapper? Yes, I said it he's black, ( just in case you didn't already know ). Shows in comparison such as Sister Wives, show 4 mothers and I can't even count how many kids. But the difference is their white! Come on America, climb down off your soap box already. Shawty Lo, is doing the right thing by supporting his family.
