Gymnastics fans hoping Shawn Johnson is getting prepped for a comeback (despite all indicators to the contrary) will be relieved to see the 2008 Olympic beam champion doing a backflip in a Youtube video released today by candymaker Nestle.
Johnson apparently does the flip over a bobsled that happens to be speeding by. The concept is a little underexplained, but Nestle is apparently having a "Team Chocolate" vs. "Team Crispies" contest and has commissioned athletes to do interesting things. For her "death-defying" skill, Johnson earned "Team Crispies" one point.
Speedskating star Apolo Ohno, representing "Team Chocolate" is there too, teasing his fellow "Dancing with the Stars" winner about how she can't do this "death-defying" stunt. In another video, Ohno, egged on by Johnson, goes down a bobsled ramp on his skates.

I have to wonder if her flip stunt is real... would her parents honestly let her do a move that dangerous for an ad?
It looks more like a composite job to me. If you pause mid-flip the level of detail with Shawn and the rest of the frame seem different different.
Got something to say?
