Shawn 'Hammer' Regnier sells 'Magic: The Gathering' Pro Tour trophy on eBay (Photos)

Today Feb. 18, 2013 a piece of "Magic: The Gathering" history will transfer hands. Shawn "Hammer" Regnier has put the second "Magic: The Gathering" Pro Tour champion trophy (along with other collectible items from the era) up for auction on eBay.

According to Regnier:

I was organizing my storage unit, and deliberated on whether to keep my stash secured, or lot it out in case an avid collector wanted to spruce up their game room, or dress up their store with some old school Magic history. I decided on the latter, so here we are. Some of this stuff is pretty cool, and rare (obviously the 2nd Pro Tour glass trophy is a one of a kind).

The highest bid in the auction is currently $93.00. The collection would make an impressive display piece for a store or private owner.

One of the cards from Regnier's world championship decklist might make an appearance in "From The Vault: Twenty." When everyone else was using Serra Angel as their win condition "Hammer" decked his opponents with Millstone. Serra Angel took just five turns to win whereas Millstone wasn't susceptible to removal spells like Swords to Plowshares.

Regnier, who's known for his history of arm wrestling, won a cool $17,000 when he took first place at Pro Tour Los Angeles in 1996. Compare that with yesterday's winnings of $40,000 by Tom Martell at Pro Tour "Gatecrash."
