Shaun White won his second ever gold medal at summer X Games in the Skateboard Vert competition. With a high score of 93, White took advantage of his last run to conquer the gold. He barely edged out strong competitor Pierre-Luc Gagnon by just 2.4 points. White came into his last run in full force and was ecstatic at the end of those thirty seconds as he realized he had done it. Gagnon followed with the last run of the night and a chance to regain the first place position, but fell short.
Shaun White's fire and energy translated through the crowd as he received a standing ovation and X Games Gold.
