Shattuck St. Mary's wins second straight World Sport School Challenge

According to the Hockey Canada website, Shattuck St. Mary's School, based out of Minnesota, has won the second straight World Sport School Challenge at the Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary on Wednesday.

Anthony Brodeur made 27 saves for the shutout as Shattuck St. Mary's defeated the Czech Republic 3-0. Shattuck St. Mary's got all three of their goals in the first period-- from Ryan Norman, Brett Boeing and Alex Rodriguez.

Norman also added an assist, becoming the only player in the championship final with a multi-point game.

In other international hockey competition news, Team Pacific (based on players from British Columbia and Alberta) were eliminated from the World U-17 Hockey Challenge in Quebec on Wednesday despite defeating Team West 4-3 in overtime. All three of Team Pacific's wins came in the extra period, meaning they finished one point out of second place behind Russia, who had two wins, an overtime loss, and a loss.
