It was a dominating performance up and down the lineup for the Blackhawks. They got off to an early lead as Patrick Sharp scored at 12:59 on a shot that deflected off of the glove of a Devils defenseman and past Corey Schneider. The Blackhawks would hold onto that lead as they racked up a 12-2 edge in shots.
In the second period, the Devils would tie the game as Stephen Gionta scored his second goal of the year at 5:37 on a deflection that beat Antti Raanta. However, the Blackhawks would take the lead back quickly as Patrick Kane knocked home a rebound at 7:57 to extend his scoring streak to 12 games. It wouldn’t take long to score again as the Bryan Bickell beat Schneider between the legs at 12:27.
The third period would feature the Devils striking again early as Michael Ryder scored 59 seconds in. But Marian Hossa would find Sharp behind the defense on a breakaway. Sharp beat Schneider under the glove at 5:54. The game would be put away with the red hot power play as Nick Leddy beat Schneider with a hard slap shot at 12:59.

3. Marian Hossa- Hossa had a good game as he had two assists. Both of those came on goals by Sharp. Hossa had three shots on goal and was a plus two. On the night, Hossa also had three takeaways.
2. Jonathan Toews- Toews had an all around game and was a plus three with one assist. Toews also had one shot on goal. In fact, Toews led all forwards in ice time with 20:30. It was a brilliant night in the faceoff circle for Toews as he won 17 of 22 faceoffs.
1. Patrick Sharp- Sharp had a great night offensively as he scored two goals and was a plus two. It was a strong game for Sharp who had six shots on goal and was credited with one takeaway.
