Fans will never see Sharon Osbourne on NBC again.
At least, that’s what the former “America’s Got Talent” judge told a TMZ reporter during the weekend.
Earlier this month, NBC announced that Osbourne would be replaced as a judge by Spice Girl Melanie Brown. Initial reports indicated that Osbourne wanted to leave the show because of her poor relationship with fellow judge Howard Stern, but Osbourne refutes that report during the video posted on TMZ.
“I adore Howard Stern. He’s one of my good friends,” Osbourne said.
Other reports indicate that Osbourne quit the show in August of 2012 because of the way NBC handled a situation with her son, Jack. In August, US Magazine reported that Osbourne quit “America’s Got Talent” after fighting with executives who fired her son from a then-upcoming reality series. Osbourne alleges that the network fired Jack because of a multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
That latter seems to be the more likely source of Osbourne’s ire. During the video interview posted on TMZ, Osbourne responds to questions about working with the network in the future by saying “Over my dead body. They can suck my lipo’d dogs.”
Osbourne, who spent seven seasons as a judge on “America’s Got Talent,” was still under contract with NBC when she quit. As a result, she cannot appear as a judge on another network for five years.
