Tonight, Sharon Leal is going back to school in "Hellcats," an hour-long dramedy starring Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale. On the show, a young girl in college joins a cheering squad called the "Hellcats," hoping to earn a cheerleading scholarship after her academic financial aid goes up in smoke.
On the show, Sharon Leal stars as Vanessa Hodge, the coach of the squad and a former Hellcat herself.
Teaching in a high school dramedy is old hat for Leal, who starred alongside Chi McBride as Beantown educators on "Boston Public." And while Leal is known for films such as "Dreamgirls" and "This Christmas," she's made her living in TV productions such as "Guiding Light" and "Private Practice."
DB Woodside, who just a few years ago portrayed the President of the United States on season six of "24," co-stars in "Hellcats," as well.
"Hellcats" airs tonight at 9 pm ET on the CW. You can view more pictures of Sharon Leal in the slideshow below.
