Sharks' host street rally prior to Game 1 against the LA Kings

The San Jose Sharks begin their quest for the 2014 Stanley Cup starting with a street rally Thursday afternoon April 17 at 5:00 p.m. at the SAP Center in San Jose just 2½ hours before they take the ice against the Los Angeles Kings.

Sharks will open the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs facing the L.A. Kings looking to avenge a semi-finals loss (4-3) to the Kings in last year’s run for the Stanley Cup.

The rally, sponsored by El Camino Hospital, will take place on Autumn Street between Santa Clara and St. John Streets is open to the public.

Aaron Colton, a Red Bull-sponsored freestyle street rider, will perform stunts as part of the special entertainment.

Comcast SportsNet will broadcast the pre-game event with additional entertainment, DJ Music, merchandise and give-a-ways available to those who are in attendance.

The Sharks have been in the Western Conference Finals twice in the last four years but lost to Vancouver in 2011 and the Black Hawks in 2010.
