San Jose Sharks forward Brent Burns let Adam Burish, James Sheppard, and Jason Demers give him a buzz cut and shave off his beard for charity Friday afternoon at the Sharks Ice practice facility in San Jose. The buzz cut left little hair left as all three took turns shaving Burns' head and beard.
Defending the Blue line (DTBL) is an organization that gives military family members the opportunity to participate in hockey whether it be funding for equipment, sending kids to hockey camp or anything to promote hockey.
The Katie Moore Foundation was founded by former Sharks player Dominic Moore. Following the passing of his wife, Katie, due to a rare liver disease, Moore started the foundation which provides resources to families battling rare diseases as well as helping fund research to advance cancer care.
So far, a total of $20,242 has been raised to split between the two charities. Fans who donated $50 or more received a signed before-and-after photo of Burns.
The top three donors were allowed to view the event in person as the event was not open to the public.
