‘Shark Tank’ and ‘What Would You Do?’ premiere tonight on ABC

ABC is premiering new seasons of two popular reality TV shows tonight. Shark Tank and What Would You Do? are very different, yet equally worth checking out. They debut new seasons back-to-back tonight on ABC.

Shark Tank:

The sharks are back for a third season to shed light on and give money to America’s most ingenious inventors. However, the inventors first have to prove why their inventions are worth the risk.

In tonight’s season premiere, NBA champion and Hall of Fame basketball player Bill Walton joins entrepreneur Dave Mayer in his pitch to the sharks. Mayer, a tri-athlete from Portola Valley, California, hopes the sharks will have a thirst for his unique water bottle. If the Sharks should need a ghostwriter, then Michael Levin from Irvine, California would welcome their investment dollars in his celebrity ghostwriting business. Other pitches include an online business created by Sue Kruskopf & Nancy Bush from Minneapolis, Minnesota that can help people plan their own funeral, down to the last detail. In the end, Alashe Nelson from Miami Beach, Florida presents a business opportunity to invest in a site offering users real VIP access at some of the hottest nightlife events in the country.

What Would You Do?

This intriguing reality series establishes everyday scenarios and then captures people’s reactions with hidden cameras. The Columbia Journalism Review called WWYD “a candid camera of ethics." Now, it’s back for a brand new season of new situations, many of which would make most viewers run for the hills. However, when faced with an unusually uncomfortable situation, will "victims" on the show be the squeaky wheel and speak out, or will they shy away from confrontation?

  • Drunken mom pressures her 9-year-old to drive
