A shark photobomb would probably be a cool thing, but not if the shark happens to be lurking behind your 12-year-old son and a friend who are surfing in the water. June Emerson’s outing at Manhattan Beach in California Friday was like any other day at the beach, with nothing out of the ordinary happening until the ride home in the car, according to UPI.com on Dec. 29.
Emerson had snapped a bunch of pictures of her son Quinn and his friend on their surf boards in the water. On the way home in the car she was going through the pictures and she spotted a silhouette of a very big fish in one photo, which was only feet away from the two pre-teens. The photo showed the boys sitting on their surf boards with their legs dangling in the water.
This is a picture that would leave a pit in the stomach of any mother thinking about all the different scenarios that could have taken place that day. Luckily the shark didn’t bother anyone and not a soul knew that they were sharing their water space with the creature.
Emerson said she showed the picture to life guards and local surfers and the consensus is that this mother caught a picture of a shark. Admittedly she was scared when she first saw the big fish so close to the kids. Not wanting to scare them she told the kids that the fish was a dolphin.
It seems that Emerson’s family lives on the beach and the kids are always in the water. The last thing she wanted to do is scare her son to the point that he’d be fearful of going in the water.
Now that Emerson has shared the picture with the public and it has gone viral, her son will definitely know it was a shark if he happens to go online in the next few days!
