While the accumulation from 2013's first snow storm was on the low side of estimates, anyone who has shoveled so far can you tell you we've had more than enough. That's the word from The Staten Island Advance, who ha been covering the so-called blizzard of 2013 story.

A wet, heavy snow has blanketed the borough -- accumulations of 5 to 7 inches have been reported on Staten Island, making shoveling a tougher-than-usual task. However, I found the snow powdery and light, fluffy, fun, and not too troublesome thus far!

"Today, as we shovel out our homes and driveways, and the kids have fun outside, high winds -- up to 29 mph during the day and up to 18 mph at night -- are predicted to blow the snow around and make it feel very cold," adds The Advance. "The wind chill factor will be in the teens during the day and near zero at night, when the temperature drops from around the freezing point to about 17 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast."

"It'll be sunny Sunday with a high near 35, but then temperatures are expected to remain above freezing for for several days, with a high in the upper 40s on both Monday and Tuesday," added The Advance, with rain in the forecast for Monday.
