Former NBA star and current TNT commentator Shaquille O’Neal is under investigation by Atlanta Police for an incident that took play last year at Turner studios. According to a report by TMZ on March 24, a man claims Shaq punched him.

Police report that 44-year-old Robert Williams alleges that O’Neal attacked him while he was working at the Turner studios just after midnight back in May.

“While at work at Turner Studios on May 9th 2013, about 12:30am, as I was performing my duties at work, Shaquille O’Neal ran out of a room and hit me with a tackle punch to the back knocking me down and falling on top of me injuring my neck and back.”

Williams did not officially report the incident to police until July 2, but claims he did report the assault to Turner Security and received immediate medial attention.

O’Neal was never arrested in the incident but police confirms that the incident is still under investigation. O’Neal’s lawyer, Dennis Roach, responded in a statement that the incident “was nothing more than horseplay” and that his client did not intend to hurt Williams.

The extent of the injuries suffered by Williams is unknown, but police are continuing to investigate and the findings will be reviewed by the DA’s Office to determine whether chargers against Shaquille O’Neal will be filed.
