Shannon Hill on trial for aggravated vehicular homicide, failure to stop, and evidence tampering

Shannon Hill, 30, of East Cleveland, was indicted on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, failure to stop after an accident, and tampering with evidence.

Prosecutors say on May 7, 2010, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Shannon Hill was driving home from a bar. He had several drinks at the bar and was driving a 1995 GMC 1500 pick up truck with a suspended license.

At E. 117th Street and Superior, the victim, 51-year-old Michael Johnson, was crossing the street when Hill struck Johnson with his truck and dragged for a considerable distance. Johnson died as a result of his injuries. The Coroner's Office found the victim's DNA on the front of Hill's vehicle.

Shannon Hill’s trial is scheduled for 9:00 am in front of Judge Steven Terry.
