Autopsy results released this morning show that 5-year-old Shaniya Davis' injuries were consistent with sexual assault and that she did indeed die of asphyxiation.
The autopsy report states that Shanyia's body was in the early stages of decomposition when it was found, November 16, 2009, in a wooded area Near Highway 87 in Lee County, 6 miles from Sanford and not far from the Comfort Inn hotel where she was last seen alive by a witness.
The clothes that Shaniya was found in, an adult sized black sweatshirt and panties, as well as hair found on her left elbow have been turned over to the Fayetteville Police Department as evidence.
According to the report, Shaniya was found to have a bruise on her face, as well as bruising around her sexual organs.
How could anyone do this to a child?
Shaniya was reported missing, Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at around 6:53 a.m. from her home located at 1116-A Sleepy Hollow Drive.
A frantic search was conduct for 6 days before Shaniya's body was found, not far from the Comfort Inn hotel where she was last seen alive by a witness.
Surveillance video from the hotel shows Shaniya being carried by Mario Andrette McNeill through the hotel, and into a room, on the morning of her disappearance.The video is time stamped 6:11 a.m.
Police believe that Shaniya was still alive at about 7:30a.m., when she left the hotel.
Mario Andrette McNeill has been charged with Kidnapping, First Degree Murder, and First Degree Rape of Shaniya Davis.
It is unknown if Shaniya's mother, Antoinette Davis will also face additional charges in her daughter's death. Davis has been charged with, Human Trafficking, Felony Child Abuse – Prostitution, Filing a False Police. Report, and Resist, Delay, or Obstruct.
The investigation into the events surrounding Shaniya Davis’ death is still ongoing.

I was sick to my stomach then...and just a mess over Shaniya, I had a feeling they didnt just rape her, But to read it..to read they beat her...its just so....I can't find the words to express the horrible feeling thats in me..my chest and stomach just turn into a mess. Brad..I hope you forever have the picture of your child in this horrific shape in your head. Mario was and will always be a piece of crap..but you..you knew better. I am so sorry Shaniya went through what we cant even imagine....I love you honey.

I have no words to describe misery & pain at the thought of this little piece of heaven on earth being put through all this! I think about her when I wake till I go to sleep! I wish I could have known you Shaniya- if just for a second to have had you smile at me.
This case is bigger than what we are being told. I am most certain there are more people involved-some pretty important people who maybe are not being identified in the media at this point in time. That Mario McNeill, he seemed way too smug at that hearing. He's connected to some corrupt government officials who are into some sick stuff. I can feel it in my bones.
I woke up in the middle of the night & it came to me just like that. I prayed to God to send Shaniya to me in my dreams. Then, one night, I sat up in bed out of dead sleep like I'd been woken up by someone. Then came the images of Shaniya being passed off by McNeill to an older male figure hurting her & taking her to where they found her. I couldnt stop shaking.
God bless you Shaniya, I am so sorry you had to come in contact with a creature named Mario. Adluts are suppose to protect you not hurt you. The world has lost a great little girl with a beautiful smile. When will the judges get it. They have to put these criminals away forever. Put them on a shark infested island and leave them there to do whatever. Shaniya you are in my thoughts every minute of every day.
I am devestated that the N.C Department of Social Services did not take Shaniya long ago and place her in a loving,caring home to parents who would raise her in the proper manner that she deserved.The child DID NOT DESERVE the harsh,nasty,filthy treatment that she faced.Please if there are any authorities in this case send So called mammie,fada,and all others involved to the Middle East where they will be beaten and burn.Non are worth air.

the comfort inn should have called the police when they saw him with her with no shoes on and her hair was messed up but all they wanted was money i just pray that he qets killed
