Shaniya Davis’s cause of death is asphyxiation. Shaniya Davis autopsy results reveal that the 5 year old was raped and asphyxiated the same day she disappeared from her mother’s home. Baby Shaniya Davis went missing on November 10. Her mother, Antoinette Davis, said that the 5 year old was sleeping on the couch at 5:30 am. She then disappeared.
We all know that Antoinette Davis played a role in the disappearance of her young daughter. She has been charged with human trafficking, prostitution, and child abuse. Her 7 year old son was placed in foster care. Her unborn child will most likely be placed in foster care upon its birth as well.
Shaniya’s cause of death is horrific. Mario Andrette McNeill has been charged with kidnapping, murder, and rape. McNeill has a troublesome past that includes various drug and assault charges. He should have never been on the streets, and never been allowed around Shaniya.
Shaniya Davis’s autopsy and cause of death rulings have enraged parents across America, including many in Tennessee. Whenever the death of a child is caused by something that could be avoided it is a tragedy that shakes the world.
Shaniya Davis’s father was on Oprah today, discussing her cause of death. Although preliminary results indicate that the cause of death was strangulation, an official ruling has not been released. We may never know the whole story of what happened to Shaniya.

I'm a student and a future mother to be of a baby boy. I had not watched the news in so long and decided that I should take abreak and view the real world upon checking my e-mail Shaniya's beautiful picture popped up and she was missing I'm always praying in the case of children and their innocence to be preserved. I so wish I understood why she had to be taken this way and at such an early age. This was definitely EVIL and waht kind of mother allows this to happen and deny have a child and is pregnant. I hope and pray that both her and that animal suffer for the rest of their sick lives and help us all to see that chances may be nice but if Mr. Lockhart had a chance to turn back time he would never give any chances not even to a so called mother.May you all be safe and your futures be safe and that of your children's future.

I think the dad is loving the media attention a little too much. It doesn't make sense that he wouldn't check up on his daughter, after she moved to a new living environment. When I leave my DOG with my parents just while I travel for work, I check up on her everyday....... So I couldn't even imagine not checking on your kid... RIP Shaniya.. you are in a safe place.. It is obvious that Mario Andrette McNeill did this! He was in the hotel room with that baby for 1 hour before he left with her. Has anyone ever stopped to think "Why is he carrying a 5-yr old?" I don't get it. Then, her body was found in the woods in Sanford, NC not far from the Comfort Suite Hotel. Lusting after a baby, then when he had his way with her he killed her because his lust turned into hate. We see him in the courtroom with a smirky smile on his face and the look of demons in his eyes. The part that gets to me also is when looking at the hotel survellaince, you can see that Shaniya trusted him. The CREEP. I hate this 29 yr old PEDOPHILE. And just because he doesn 't look the part on the outside, doesn't mean he's not capable. May he rot in jail, then burn in hell. I by no means feel sorry for her, but I just wondered why would she call the police so soon? and risk angering this guy and having him come back to do her harm. I believe he is genuinely crushed and wish he could've done something different but he is partly to blame here. He could've left that child with his sister like all the other times. In fact, he use to leave the child with girlfriends also, who actually use to help take care of Shaniya. He is no saint. Oh but we excuse him of all fault because he's a white surburban dad. It's everybody's fault, the dad, the mom, the relatives, neighbors, and this Mario freak!! You don't raise a child all those years and just forb the sake of second chances let her stay with a somewhat of a stranger in another part of town. First, you check the mother out, see if what she says is true, job, habitable living environment. if it checks out then you allow supervised visitation. You do it for at least a year, just to see if it's stable. Hell, some jobs that put you on probation for a year. As you are doing this you ask the child questions. If you then want this child to stay with this woman, you pop up, check out the school she is going to, talk to the teachers, etc. All of this should be the conditions agreed upon before even considering visitation much less leaving this child with her. We take better care of our dogs then children, sickening. Everybody wanted to live their lives, Shaniya was in their selfish way. Animals don't raise their own and then kill it!! Sick!!

I am outraged by this story. I cannot fathom any mother allowing any harm to come to her child, so the fact that this mother allegedly sold this baby into sexual servitude to pay off her drug debt is unfathomable. She should have to serve as a sex slave, be beat and strangled to her last breath daily for the rest of her life. Death is too kind for her. She should have to spend the rest of her wicked life suffering. The Christian in me knows that it is wrong to wish something like this, but this case has to have an exception. My heart bleeds for that little girl, raped until she defecated and then strangled to death. That dirt bag McNeil should be sentenced to the toughest prison in the US and be beaten and raped daily for the rest of his miserable life. Death is too good for him as well. He should have to suffer every day of his life the rest of his life the same way that he caused that innocent little girl to suffer.
As for the father, someone seriously needs to look into his background because something about his story just does not sit well with me. First of all, did you see his house! Why on earth would you allow your child to go from living in a place like that to living in a piece of crap trailer? Also, I could not understand why he had the son answering questions for him during the Nancy Grace interview. He son seemed well put together and to have his words together...almost too much so given the circumstances. I hope that the father did not have any devious reasons for sending the child to live with the mother...I hope that he did it for the reasons he alleges...but still, something is just not right. He had to know that was not a safe environment. I know that you should not judge people by where they live, I myself have had to live in some rough areas until I could do better, but you better believe that I would have been calling and visiting daily, not only because of the situation,
but because it had to be very frightening to Shaniya to go from suburbs to hellhole. My heart goes out to the family. If it were my child, I fear that I would not be able to starve off the hand of vengeance and would beat the living crap out of them both.

Poor shaniya was let down by so many people in her family, including the dad. I saw his beautiful home, why in the world would he allow her to go visit this woman who is obviously a poor example of a human being. I blame the dad, I blame the family because they had to know about antoinette's living conditions. Her landlord was evicting her due to the constant flow of traffic in and out of her home, and let's not forget the burns on shaniya'a arm, and she told her dad that mommy's friend did it. That alone would have gotten me sole custody of her. Shaniya or the rest of the kids in the home had no right being there. When she was pulled out of school, social services should have been called. there were so much that could have been done to save shaniya and NOTHING was done. I have legal custody of my two nieces age six and four. My brother uses drugs and I requested his visitations terminated until he stop using drugs. Mr. Lockhart could have easily proven this woman unfit.
