May justice be served for Shaniya Davis! |
Photo Credit: Family PhotoThe body of Shaniya Davis has been found today. Shaniya disappeared from her home in Fayetteville, North Carolina on November 10, 2009. At the onset of her disappearance, Shaniya Davis’ mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, told authorities that she had left Shaniya Davis asleep on a sofa at 5:30 AM. Approximately one hour later, Shaniya had disappeared. The story was met with skepticism amongst crime sleuths and HLN host Nancy Grace from the beginning. Nancy Grace featured Shaniya’s story from the onset as an Amber Alert had been issued for the missing five year old.
Shaniya Davis lived in the Sleepy Hollow mobile home park, residents in the park found it unlikely that someone would manage to come into the park, abduct Shaniya and disappear without someone hearing anything. There was no indication that Shaniya had walked out of the mobile home and a neighbor, Andrea Moore had stated that she heard banging on the wall the morning of Shaniya’s disappearance. She also stated that she heard someone outside of her mobile home at approximately 3:00 a.m. Police later confiscated Andrea Moore’s garbage after stating that they retrieved a blanket that belonged to Shaniya.
On November 11, Antoinette Nicole Davis’ boyfriend, Clarence Coe was arrested for the kidnapping of Shaniya Davis. The case seemed to have the break it needed, but though Coe was in custody, there was no word of where Shaniya was. On November 13, 2009, Clarence Coe was released and charges against him were dropped. A Comfort Suites motel surveillance video showed Shaniya Davis being taken into a motel with a man, 29 year old Mario McNeill. The video never showed Shaniya or Mario McNeill leave the motel. The video showed Shaniya with McNeill approximately 40 minutes before Antoinette Davis reported Shaniya missing. Mario McNeill was arrested and charged with first degree kidnapping.
The most shocking arrest in the horrific account of Shaniya Davis is that her mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, was arrested on Saturday, November 14, 2009. Antoinette Davis has been charged with human trafficking, child abuse involving prostitution, and filing a false police report. According to reports and the warrant, Antoinette Davis is accused of giving her daughter over with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude.
Little Shaniya Davis’ body was found today approximately 7 miles from the Comfort Suites hotel where Mario McNeill was seen on surveillance tape, carrying the girl. According to Mario McNeill’s lawyer, his client intends to plead not guilty to first degree kidnapping charges.
According to reports, Antoinette Davis is currently pregnant.

What a horrible, tragic situation. Words can not describe how sick this is. That being said, children are pimped everyday. Most are not pimped in this way but it doesn't mean that there are not other ways to pander. Mothers, black, white, asian, rich and poor turn their backs on their kids who are obviously being molested by their fathers or stepfathers. These moms don't want their "man" taken away from them or to loose their comfortable life style. Yes, it feels nice to say this woman should fry, etc, and I agree but getting all indignant about this and saying a few prayers doesn't help all the ---- still going on.

You raise a child for 5 years and then willingly give your baby girl over to a woman who clearly does not have her act together.
I am sure the biological father never imagined the tragedy that was to follow but I can't understand why he would just ship her off and say ok, you have a job now, take her.
I can only hope that someone responsible and loving will take care of this womans son and unborn child.
Just because a woman gives birth to a little girl it does not make her a mother. Yes, this case is tragic. This goes on every day and most cases are not reported. YES they should be reported. In my case my mother let it happen from the time I was 6 years old. It stopped for awhile and I blacked it all out. When I was in my early teens it started again and I thought it was all my fault, after all he said it was my fault. I myself finally put a stop to it when I was 16, he was very hatefull. I didn't realize at what age it started until I was much older and my own daughter was about to turn 6. I started having flash backs that at first I didn't understand. Thought I was losing my mind. From that point on my daughter NEVER visited her grandmother until she was a grown adult. I myself didn't visit their home for over 20 years and only a few times in the last 10. Never did confront my mother and her second husband. He's now dead and hopefully burning in hell.
This hurts so badly, I don't know what to say... I prayed that they would find her alive, and look at this craziness... Why???

I hope that the prisoners get a hold of the mother and the man that has done this. I hope she never makes it to court because noone deserves to be alone as a child and go through this. She should have a picture of her in her solitary room of the autopsy pictures there if they choose to let her live. She needs to ask for the electric chair not a needle because you go in peace that way she needs to feel everything her daughter was going through till the last day of her life.

The case of Miss Shaniya Davis was very troubling to me as a young adult female. I have to raise kids one day and I aspire to become a social worker and diminish the happenings of cases like this. I don't understand how a mother could give her own baby to some dirty grown men for MONEY! That's the problem with the world now, everything is based off of money. Noone will have their money or any other riches when our saviour comes. We are only living to prove that we deserve everlasting life with the Lord. Rest in peace sweetie......

What has happened to that precious little girl is very disturbing. It has really affected me as a human being and parent. Watching that video in the hotel just turned my insides out! That, being the last time she was alive in the arms of and the intentions of that man, must be sickening for her father to see. It sickens me and has permanently left a scar on my heart. My heart goes out to those who loved her. I cry for her. God Bless Shaniya Davis, may she spread her little wings in heaven and be at peace.
RIP Beautiful, Shaniya!! I've been following this story from the beginning and I, like many others, hoped for a better ending! Especially after seeing this baby alive on surveillance camera at the hotel. It sickens me to know what the intentions were when that monster took her to that hotel. How could anyone rape and murder a child?!!? It makes me sick and I feel so bad for the pain little Shaniya endured. Shaniya trusted her "mother" to keep her safe and she did just the opposite of that. Shaniya was such a beautiful and happy little girl with her father, why couldn't she just stay there, where she was obviously well taken care of and LOVED?!! I wish he would've never trusted her sick, crack-head, coke-whore, piece of crap "mother"!! Why didn't Antoinette sell her own body for drugs....why sell your baby girl???? I'll never understand this! I hope both antoninette and Mario get what they deserve in prison from other inmates.
I pray that God gives the family strength to endure in their time of grief. My heart is saddened and I pray that justice is served. May God Bless the family. This is not a race thing because we all know that this type of thing happens in every race and its awful. May Shaniya rest in peace. I know that she is in Heaven in God's Loving Arms. I want the family to truly understand that God has her with Him and nothing bad can ever happen to her again. I know that you will miss her, but she will forever be with you in your hearts and minds. Look up and smile at her and you will see her smiling back. Live for God and you will see her again.

I was deeply saddened and cried when I saw the news about Shaniya on the Nancy Grace show. My heart and prayers goes out to Shaniya and her family. May they find peace and comfort knowing that God will never forsake us during this time of sorrow. Even though we know that Shaniya is in better hands now with our Lord, it is such a tragedy way Shaniya's precious life was taken away so soon. We may never understand why or how a mother can do this to their own children but I pray for her unborn baby, I pray that she will come to her senses and come to know the Lord. I pray also for her son that Child Protection Services finds him a good place. I'm so thankful to Shaq for supporting the Davis family and also for everyone who prayed and supported Shaniya's family.
For Shaniya's family, please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your precious angel.
