Los Angeles, CA (Examiner.com)- Shane Sparks, a guest judge and choreographer on Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” and MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” is now facing felony child molestation charges in Los Angles County.
According to a KTLA news report, Sparks was “charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with a minor, two counts of oral copulation with a minor, and lewd conduct with a child under 14, which is a felony.
”Sparks is well known for his work in the 2004 movie "You Got Served" before becoming a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance." He received an Emmy Nomination for his work on the show and was later asked to join “America’s Best Dance Crew.”
Web site TMZ reported that Sparks attorney Steve Meister said ‘the case "stinks to high heaven" because Sparks' accuser waited 15 years to come forward. He called the claims "extortion, Hollywood-style."
Ultimately the facts will decide this case, however here are some rape statistics: Rape is the most underreported crime in the country. Only 40% of rape cases are ever reported to the police. Most victims are scared, embarrassed, and traumatized especially minors, and only 6% of the rapist spend time in jail. (source: rainn.com)
