Things were looking green at Riverside's Harley-Davidson dealership for their Shamrockin event to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.The employees were dressed in green, the discounts on merchandise were low enough to save a lot of green and even a few of the motorcycles outside were green.
At 10:00a.m. the parking lot on the south and east side was starting to get full, by 11:00a.m bikes were parked all over the lots and parking in any little corner that the riders could find.
The band called the Black Top Blaggers were playing a variety of music to entertain the crowd.
Inland Empire Hog had their food tent and grill going to serve up hotdogs. The line was growing as the event went on. Across the lot were tent setup for two upcoming events those would be West Coast Thunder and The Inland Empire Spring Festival and Bar-B-Que Kickoff. Also the Ladies of Harley were selling appropriately green baked goods.Next to them was a tent where someone could sign up to take riding lessons.
Inside the dealer was bustling with activity as people lined to buy jackets, boots, shirts, seats, Jewelry to name a few. The items for sale had colored dots to indicate how much savings that item had.
I ran into some well known members of the Riverside motorcycle community. I saw Jay Dabney, Dealer Principal of Skip Fordyce Harley-Davidson, Jay and Sharon of Jay Gordon's Blues Venom. Jack Howell the PR guy for Abate Local 27 Riverside. I saw Terry King at Ladies of Harley booth, she is working on the upcoming Corset Run.
In all it wa a good way to spend a Saturday.
