St. Patrick’s season is upon us, and for many Westchester County residents, the celebration lasts all month long. Here’s a list of places where you can go to get your Irish up this weekend!
White Plains St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Saturday, March 8, 12:00 PM.
The White Plains parade is on Mamaroneck Avenue (for a link to the parade route, click here). The parade passes at least a dozen popular bars, including Brazen Fox, Wicked Wolf, Lazy Boy Saloon, and Ron Black’s. Make sure to visit O’Connor’s (93 Mamaroneck Avenue), which will be featuring an outdoor bar, BBQ all day in the beer garden, green beer, and shots of Jameson and Irish Mist. Then head over to Vintage Bar on Main Street to see Shilelagh Law perform at 3:00.
Mount Kisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Saturday, March 8, 1:30 PM.
You can find the parade route here. Stop into O’Connor’s (222 East Main Street) for corned beef and cabbage and to hear pipes and drums!
Northern Westchester/Mahopac St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Sunday, March 9, 2:00 PM.
New York State’s third largest parade will start at 2:00 PM. For more information, click here. The Brewster Elks Lodge #2101 will be marching, and on their float they will be honoring Kevin Culley and Patrick Quinlan, both of whom were a major part of the parade and have passed away this year. Kevin’s father was also the first Grand Marshall of the parade, and Patrick “PQ” Quinlan always played the part of St. Patrick at the parade. Afterwards, head over to Brodie’s Pub on East Main Street in Mohegan Lake to hear live tunes by Tim Quinn, pipes and drums, and watch the step dancers.
