'Shameless' season 3: Does Fiona realize Jimmy is just like dear old dad?

Showtime’s “Shameless” has dealt Fiona Gallagher one heck of a hand in life, as she is the soul provider and caretaker for a family of her wayward brothers and one sister. It looks like Fiona may be a case of history repeating itself as the love of her life, Jimmy, is showing his real colors these days and it’s not too far of a stretch to say he’s a lot like Frank. According to Star Pulse on March 2, 2013, Fiona might have Jimmy’s wife to contend with as she may be falling in love with her estranged husband for the first time.

In last week’s episode Fiona couldn’t listen to Jimmy’s whining about his father’s gay affair with one of the Gallagher boys and she sent him off in a huff. The camera breaks in to show Jimmy having sex with Estefania, just as Fiona breaks down in tears alone at home waiting for Jimmy. It’s safe to say Jimmy wasn’t enjoying his romp with his estranged wife, which was evident by the bored look on his face. He was there in a drunken stupor, much like you’d might expect from Frank Gallagher.

Fiona who has a love-hate relationship with her father Frank, will hate him even more in the coming weeks, after finding out he called family welfare on the kids. Is she aware that her choice of a boyfriend is very similar to Frank? Jimmy has some of the very attributes that she despises in Frank. This spoiled overgrown kid has absolutely no work ethics and he’s not held a regular job. He is a car thief and looking for the quickest way to make money, even if it means breaking the law. This is much like Frank when it comes to making money.

Once again, just like Frank, Jimmy is unreliable and a liar. Fiona has picked a man just like her father. Besides smelling of urine from his drunken bouts like Frank, Jimmy has a lot of his traits and behaviors. Unless Jimmy makes a quick change, Fiona might smarten up and realize she’s picked a man just like dear old dad.

Fiona’s main man is about to get more complicated, as his drug-lord father-in-law wants him to be a husband to Estefania. Fiona is under the impression that Jimmy’s days with the South American beauty is over, because that’s what he told her. He is trying to live a double life, which is bound to fall in on him soon.

What is in store for Fiona as the “Shameless” season winds down? Will she find a man that’s deserving of her love, or will she stay with Jimmy?
