'Shameless' is taking risqué behavior to an all-time high this season

Shameless” from Showtime is hitting all-time highs when it comes to risqué behavior demonstrated by the Gallagher family this season. Even William Macy, who’s plays Frank Gallagher the patriarch of this extremely dysfunctional family, claims he’s spoken up a couple of times to tell exec’s that a few scenes for “Shameless” have gone too far. According to The Miami Herald on Sunday, Jan. 27, Macy has voiced his opinion that the behavior was "too much" in a couple of the scenes that he deemed “too despicable” and he claims this has happened “once or twice.”

After seeing his character Frank sit in a dilapidated bar men’s bathroom and offer men oral sex for money in a past season, it is hard to imagine what would be “too despicable” compared to some of the scenes he acted out already on “Shameless.”

Sunday night’s episode saw Frank stick a baby with a thumb tack and then put a Band-Aid over the puncture wound to fool the child’s guardian into thinking that he took the child to get his vaccination as he volunteered to do. He did this to keep the money that the baby’s grandmother gave him for the doctor’s co-pay.

Frank also shaved his young son's head and told the boy that he had cancer to try and score a free trip to a professional basketball game from the foundation that grants kid’s their dying wish. “Shameless” had some scenes on the Sunday night episode that were a bit more risqué than what the show presented when it first aired.

The sex scenes are getting much more graphic from the man masturbating on the bus in this week’s episode to Lip, the oldest Gallagher boy, giving his girlfriend oral sex, as it seems not much was left to the imagination. While this “Shameless” clan is the epitome of a “dysfunctional family,” there’s a lot of love that circulates among the dysfunction.

Fiona, the oldest of all the Gallagher kids, fills in as the only parent and tries to make up for the lack of parents for her siblings. She plays the part of a single mother to these kids, as both parents are incapacitated most of the time. The mother of this brood is long gone as she is someone who is diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and doesn’t take her meds. Last the family heard from her she was living with her truck driver lesbian lover.

Frank is a total drunk who really doesn’t show up on the show sober at all, so Fiona has taken over the role of parents for the household of mostly wayward kids. Even though Fiona is wayward herself, the love she has for the family and the sacrifices she makes for her brothers and only sister really makes her one endearing character on TV this season.

Fiona is genuine and right now she is being played by her boyfriend who is married and forced to stay in a relationship with his wife by his wife’s father who is head of a large drug cartel. As far as Fiona knows, he is not involved with his wife anymore, but this is really not the case. Sunday night’s episode had a scene in the last few minutes of the show that had Fiona crying about all the wicked stuff she’s experienced from the world and she was thankful that she can count on Jimmy. The guilt on Jimmy’s face as Fiona was crying on his shoulder was enough to predict that his lies will be uncovered within the next few episodes.

Will Fiona get rid of Jimmy once she finds out that he’s been living a double life? She taken him back before when he showed up married on her doorstep, or will this time be the final blow? “Shameless” returns with a new episode in two weeks so fans have to wait to until then to find out what direction Fiona and Jimmy are going in.
