'Shameless' catch up marathon airing in preparation for season four on Showtime

The returns of Showtime's "Shameless" is being celebrate with a marathon, according to a Jan. 3, 2014 press announcement emailed by Showtime Network. The "Shameless" full season catch-up marathon begins on Fri., Jan 3 and runs through Sun., Jan. 5, 2014.

'Shameless" returns for its fourth season on Sun., Jan. 12, 2014 (9 p.m. ET/PT). The series is followed by the Showtime comedies "House of Lies" and "Episodes." The catch-up marathon begins with the full first season starting on Fri. at noon. Season two airs on Sat. and season three airs on Sun., starting at noon. Viewers can also catch up on Showtime On Demand and Showtime Anytime. The marathon schedule is on the Showtime website.

"Shameless" stars Academy Award nominee William H. Macy Frank Gallagher and Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum as Fiona Gallagher. The dark comedy also stars Justin Chatwin, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney, Laura Slade Wiggins, Noel Fisher and Emma Greenwell.

As the new season picks up, the wild and raunchy Gallagher family is braving yet another brutal Chicago winter. The famously dysfunctional family is awaiting answers about the medical fate of flawed family patriarch, permanently pickled Frank Gallagher (Macy).

With Fiona (Rossum) in a stable job and relationship, and Lip (Jeremy Allen White) enrolled in college, can the Gallaghers finally realize the middle class American dream?

"Shameless" is based on the long-running hit UK series. The comedy is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning television and film producer John Wells, Andrew Stearn and Mark Mylod. Wells developed the series for American television. Paul Abbott serves as executive consultant. "Shameless" is produced by Bonanza Productions, Inc. in association with John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
