Shameful owner throws senior Boxer dog away as yesterday's trash

Rufus is a ten-year-old male Boxer absolutely terrified after someone discarded him like yesterday's trash. Whether he was found roaming the street or if his past owner dropped him off at a Florida shelter where he shook in fear, doesn't really matter, because no one came to find him.

As all animal lovers just shake their heads in disgust, please praise the devotion and compassion of all those who help to give every "Rufus" out there a new "leash" on life.

Florida Boxer Rescue, a 501(c)3 organization focusing on Boxers in central and western Florida, say this is the third Boxer they have rescued this week just from one shelter.

A volunteer writes this about Rufus:

"This old guy was just shaking when I went to visit him, but he didn't bark or jump or growl or make any noise even when the other dogs in the cages around him were going crazy. Right now I have a foster home lined up to take him in and give him the love and care he deserves. He looks like he would do fine with other dogs and did not act at all like an alpha...only 48 pounds!"

As with most organizations, volunteers are needed to foster these rescued dogs in order to get them out of the shelters. Please choose a shelter near you and volunteer.
