At the Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday night, the two entertainers who walked away from the award show winners had their hands full. Enrique Iglesias won nine awards. Shakira won six awards. In what was a bit of a shocker outcome, the two popular entertainers had plenty of trophies for their contributions in Latin music.
Enrique Iglesias, considered one of the hottest Latin stars on the planet (sorry Marc Anthony,) won Latin Artist of the Year and Latin Album of the Year. Sharing an important milestone in his career with the fans, he was extraordinarily excited.
Shakira, also won big at the award show with six awards for the evening. Her wins included wins for the categories Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Female and Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Female.
Both entertainers have albums in English and Spanish allowing the fans who speak either tongue a chance to appreciate their music. Crossing the music lines, the two also really have a strong fan base who support them in every part of the world. So the fans weren’t remotely surprised that Shakira and Enrique walked away big winner.
