REDLANDS, CA- September is coming to an end and next week will be the start of October, which means people every where will be getting ready for Halloween in full force. Supermarkets are already starting to dedicate an aisle for Halloween decor. In addition to Halloween decor, theme parks across Southern California are getting ready to open "Fright Nights," and among those theme parks, a Haunted Grove in Redlands is preparing to make a comeback this year for a bigger, better and spookier Halloween treat.
The Redlands Shakespeare Festival has announced that their Haunted Grove Experience will be offered for three consecutive nights this year. Shagkespeare's villains and monsters will be coming back to life alongside traditional Halloween haunts on October 25 through October 27 at the estate of Dr. Paul Ryan, 11738 Overcrest Avenue in Redlands.
“We are thrilled to be returning to the Ryan estate, "Steven Sabel, founding artistic director of the Redlands Shakespeare Festival, said. "The groves and gardens there really lend themselves perfectly to the eerie quality we create for this event, and Dr. Ryan is a magnificent host."
The event will feature 90-minute tours through the groves and gardens of the estate, whee guests will be able to meet with haunting scenes featuring Shakespearean characters and spook vignettes. There will also be four gourmet food and wine stations along the tour for appetizers, meals and dessert.
Some of the scenes that will be featured along the tour are scenes from "Macbeth," "Titus Andronicus," "The Tempest," and a variety of others.
Tickets for the Haunted Grove Experience $55 per person or $99 per couple. Tours are limited to no more than 20 people per time slot. There are 13 time slots available. Tickets are available by pre-sale reservation only.
Proceeds from the Haunted Grove Experience benefit the annual Redlands Shakespeare Festival, presented the last three weekends of May each year at the Redlands Bowl. This coming season marks the tenth anniversary of the festival.
