Shake Shack rolls out new fries that brings them in

Shake Shack has mastered the art of perfect French fries with its new recipe. Deliciously crispy, the new fries arrived Wednesday and were heartily appreciated by customers. Shake Shack has been striving to make a better fry for the past two years because it wanted to bring customers fries that could live up to its burgers, which are made from Angus beef and are very juicy and tasty. We were met by Jon Vandegrift, Shake Shack Area Director, who has been with the company for eleven years.

The Shake Shack team searched farms in the Northwest United States for the best top quality crops in russet potatoes. The Shake Shack team’s quest yielded successful results. The spuds have a perfect texture and a rich deep brown color. The russets are gathered and distributed to the Shake Shack restaurants in Coral Gables, Boca Raton, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, D.C., New Jersey, and New York, to be hand-cut daily at each location. Shake Shack's new fries will soon become a favorite among local French fry lovers.

One of the main reasons for the great taste is that the potatoes are fresh, not frozen. The fries are soaked in water, then cooked twice instead of the customary one-time-fry used in other restaurants, to insure the crispy, crunchy taste. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest for good taste, they are easily a 10. The fries can be dipped in Shake Shack's melted cheese sauce, made from American and Cheddar cheese; or the latest addition to Shake Shack's roster of condiments, malt vinegar. Finally, the juicy, meaty burgers have a partner now.

Shake Shack originated in New York in 2004 and became an immediate hit with its menu of Angus beef burgers, classic hotdogs, desserts, sodas, shakes and a special menu for dogs. Dog lovers have the option of sitting outside of the restaurant with their canine companions and feed them canine treats, such as the dog biscuits made exclusively for Shake Shack by Bocce's Bakery, based out of New York, which creates all natural treats for dogs. Dog lovers can treat their pooch to a Pooch-ini, two burger dog biscuits in a cup with vanilla custard and peanut butter on the bottom or purchase a Bag-O-Bones, a bag full of dog biscuits.

You can also have fun inside the restaurant. The Coral Gables location is the only one to feature a ping pong table. Shake Shack hosts their Shake Shack Table Tennis League (SSTTL) about once a month. The next meeting is on Tuesday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m. Guests have to sign up prior to the tournament in order to participate. It will be conducted on a first time, first serve basis.

The Coral Gables Shake Shack is located at 1450 S. Dixie Highway. Free parking is available within its spacious parking lot. Hours are: Sunday – Thursday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM. Friday and Saturday, 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM.
