Shain Gandee cause of death: 'Buckwild' star dies from carbon monoxide poisoning

Shain Gandee's cause of death has been revealed. The "Buckwild" star did die from carbon monoxide poisoning, as previously speculated. On April 2 TMZ confirmed the news, adding that Gandee's death was ruled an accident following the results of an autopsy. Although details were vague from the moment the news broke, many began speculating that this was a tragic accident and that foul play was not involved.

"Shain's uncle and a male friend also died while inside Shain's 1984 Bronco, which had stalled out in mud while the crew went off-roading over the weekend. The truck's exhaust pipe had apparently been submerged in mud, causing the gas to leak back into the car," TMZ reports.

Shain Gandee's cause of death is not surprising to fans who have been reading all of the updates since the news was reported yesterday. Since there weren't any reports about gun shots or a car wreck, carbon monoxide seemed like the only logical explanation. News outlets began reporting that Shain's truck was stuck in deep mud and that the area he was in had limited cell phone reception -- it didn't take much for people to add up the facts.

As previously reported, Gandee's family is now struggling to come up with the money to give him a proper funeral. A fundraiser has been set up by his cousin Ashley to help with the financial strain.

Shain Gandee's cause of death is devastating -- an accident that maybe could have been avoided if he, his uncle, and the third male in the truck were able to get out. The "Buckwild" star was just 21-years-old.
