“The Fault of Our Stars” secured its spot as the bestselling novel of 2012, and with confirmed news of a movie adaptation in the works, the IB Times reported this Sunday, Feb. 17, that actress Shailene Woodley of “Divergent” is now rumored to be a top casting candidate for the lead role of Hazel Grace Lancaster.
Fans of the novel are no doubt looking forward to seeing who will be cast in the lead roles of Augustus Walters and Hazel Lancaster. And while Shailene Woodley — who is confirmed to be playing the part of Tris in the upcoming “Divergent” movie — is certainly busy, that hasn’t stopped the talented actress from catching the author John Greene in “The Fault of Our Stars” film.
“Big news is forthcoming in ‘The Fault of Our Stars’ movie,” wrote Green on Twitter. “This has been a very exciting couple of days.”
Producers Nuestadter and Weber are expected to begin producing the hit novel this summer, and their casting actress in mind for Hazel Grace’s character — none other than Shailene Woodley — is already being approved by the author, it seems.
Shailene Woodley of “Divergent” remains uncast officially for the movie adaptation, though if these early rumor reports are true, the talented actress may be the female lead of yet another hit film.
