Actress Shailene Woodley cut her hair this weekend for her upcoming role in the movie adaptation of John Green's The Fault in Our Stars -- and has inspired fans everywhere to do the same, and donate their locks to a children's hair loss charity.
Children with Hair Loss provides free wigs to kids experiencing hair loss from a variety of medical conditions, such as cancer or burns. Unlike some hair donation charities, Children with Hair Loss accepts chemically-treated hair, so long as it is in good condition.
Woodley blogged about the experience of cutting her hair, writing, "i know what it feels like to have wind blow through my wavy locks, and i am over-the-top grateful i get to share that gift with another."
Woodley begins filming The Fault in Our Stars later this month. The movie also stars Ansel Elgort, Laura Dern, and Sam Trammell.
