Shahrukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' gearing up for Eid release?

All eyes are now on Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming film, “Chennai Express.” Although no official confirmation of the release date has been made, the industry is speculating an Eid release for Rohit Shetty directorial venture with Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, reports TOI on March 8.

Although Diwali had been Shahrukh’s favorite time for his film’s release, looks like he is ready to make an exception with “Chennai Express,” which has been slated for an August release.

Rumors are abuzz that the distributors, members of the production house, Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan, who has choreographed a song for the film, and music directors Vishal-Shekhar met to discuss things. An excited SRK was seen after the meeting, who announced to his team, “Get ready for Eid.”

While all seems fair with the decision, one hopes that this does not give rise to any further controversies for the Khan. The Eid slot has been exclusively the domain for arch-rival Salman Khan. Several of his films, including “Wanted,” “Bodyguard,” “Dabangg” and “Ek Tha Tiger” were all Eid releases and made it big at the box-office.
