A fashionista will tell you well before anyone that an outfit is incomplete without the perfect pair of "sunnies" or sunshades to those unfamiliar with the fashion slang. While the trend over the past couple of years has been to see just how large the actual lens of the sunglasses can get without actually swallowing the fashionista's face whole--the newest development to hit the streets are the sunnies with graphic patterned prints; a trend that is bold, daring and unfortunately one that may be short-lived.
All designers notorious and independent are hopping onto this newest trend including Tom Ford, Kate Spade and Rachel Zoe to name a few. Long are the days where the choices for shades are black and brown or small lens versus oversized "Jackie-O" inspired spectacles. With this newest trend, the craze involves sunnies with spots, stripes, leopard prints, studs, shape cut-outs and more.
While this trend is fun and exciting--and donning these flashy sunnies will definitely get you noticed, a word of advice would warn to go for cheap as this trend may soon fade and all will be sane again in the fashion world with the basic choices of sunnies being black and brown or small versus large lens. No need to drop more than $100 on this cute trend otherwise you are in danger of not realizing your investment; unless you're like the real fashionistas who stack their out of fashion items in the back of their closet until the trend comes back full circle again in ten years. Whatever your choice may be, try not to invest your entire life savings into what is being coined as "shady behavior."
