With Shadows Fall's new album release right around the corner on 9/15, fans are gearing up to be blasted right out of their seats so far and fast that even their own shadows have a hard time catching up.
This homegrown Springfield, MA band's much anticipated sixth album, Retribution, promises to be the bands best work yet with a solid mix of heavy hitting instrumentals and well laid-out lyrics. Since their sound seemed to play it a little too safe in Threads of Life , fans are looking forward to an album that kicks some serious metal a**, and it looks like Retribution is the one. The deluxe version of the album will even feature a cover of Ozzy's "Bark at the Moon". Will they win a Grammy award for best metal performance like they did last year for "Redemption"? Take a listen to their new album single "Still I Rise" on their Myspace page and you may agree that this is definitely in the cards. The song is an angry, fast, heavy anthem with some serious double bass pedal action, excellent vocal harmony, and guitar riffs that defy normal finger agility.
Shadows Fall also has a contest running now too, where you can win everything from three magazine subscriptions, $100 gift cards, Ibanez guitars, an H2 recorder, and tons more of one of the biggest and best grand prize packages yet. This free contest only runs until 9/24. To enter, get to this site here as quickly as possible. You don't want to miss this.
If you missed Shadows Fall on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this week, definitely check out their live performance of "Still I Rise" in the video below. Not enough and you just have to see them up close and personal? Make sure you get your tickets now to see them at House of Blues in Boston on October 8th, where they will play with OTEP and Five Finger Death Punch who also has a new album coming out on 9/22.
