For the past several years, Great Wolf Lodge guests have enjoyed the unique and interactive game adventure of MagiQuest. The fun and family-themed indoor waterpark resort has now developed a brand new interactive game experience. ShadowQuest is the latest game from Creative Kingdoms, LLC, which also created the MagiQuest game.
According to the press release, ShadowQuest is similar to MagiQuest in style, but is a completely new adventure and interactive fantasy game. With the same wand technology of MagiQuests, ShadowQuest takes players through the halls of the resort in search of crystals, artifacts and magical places and characters.
Players select from a variety of quests and adventures that results in a collection of special powers. As the powers increase, game players proceed to higher levels. The level of difficulty also increases as players reach the higher levels.
ShadowQuest features ten quests and a “Vanishing Light” adventure. For those who successfully accomplish each step, there is a final battle against the evil yeti Malaki. Players can summon Lumina, leader of the light pixies, to help choose which quest on which to embark.
Not confined to a computer screen, ShadowQuest takes players inside a three-dimensional, interactive fantasy world where they have to follow clues that lead them deeper into a mythical world full of magical characters and creatures.
We are so excited to debut ShadowQuest at our resorts,” said Kim Schaefer, chief executive officer of Great Wolf Resorts. “We have wanted to bring a new experience to families who already love MagiQuest, as well as add something to engage kids who haven't yet played the game. With the wave of a wand – literally – the entire family can take an adventure together.”
With its fantastical theme and rich, digital elements, ShadowQuest will blend into the Great Wolf Lodge resorts right alongside the MagiQuests stations. Players can start and stop the game at any time, which is nice when the need to hit the waterpark overcomes thrill seekers. Each wand stores every feat, score and battle played for easy continuation at a future time or visit. The same wand also stores players' MagiQuest games and accomplishments.
ShadowQuest debuted at Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin on August 23, 2013. Six additional Great Wolf Lodge locations will follow this fall, including Mason, Ohio; Grapevine, Texas; Grand Mound, Washington; Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania; Williamsburg, Virginia and Concord, North Carolina.
