In collaboration with the California College of the Arts (CCA), the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Design (SFMCD) will be presenting the 2013 Young Designer’s Show, beginning this Saturday. It is a showcase of works from a selected group of students in CCA’s Interior Design Program, focusing on design, materials, constructs, and atmospheres. Each feature work has been considered by both the CCA and the SFMCD as the best of the projects of this year, and they will include drawings, renderings, lighting, and furniture designs, as well as full-scale material explorations and prototypes.
Guest curators of This year’s Young Designer’s Show are two CCA professors Megan Warner and Margo Majewska, with assistance from the students of CCA’s interior design students. And among the students featured in this exhibition includes Emily Breiz, whose work Atmospheric Screen can be preview on SFMCD’s website at www.sfmcd.org.
The 2013 Young Designer’s show will also coincide with SFMCD’s New West Coast Design 2 exhibition, which will open on October 26th, and feature works from those who have made notable contributions to the world of design. Meanwhile, the Young’s Designer’s Show will be on view at SFMCD until November 3rd.
