The show is set for Oct. 4 at NYCB Theatre at Westbury in Long Island, New York.
"The great thing about the show is it's a mixture of the original Wiggles songs like 'Hot Potato' and 'Toot Toot, Chugga Chugga' mixed with all the new stuff like 'Do the Propeller,' which is on the 'Taking Off' album," Watkins said in a phone interview with Newsday.
Watkins is in just her first year as Yellow Wiggle, but it's not surprising she has become so adored being that she has model-esque good looks and a gorgeous smile.
"Being a Wiggle is a role where you really essentially get to play yourself. So it's nice that the children start to learn your name," Watkins said. "We have so many children yelling things out during the show, a song request or a question, and you never know what they're going to be. We're always changing the show up and improvising on stage and that's something that's really fun.
Watkins says the show in Westbury could feature one of her favorite tunes, a cut from their new album, "Taking Off."
"My favorite song at the moment is 'Emma (With the Bow in Her Hair),' which is off of the 'Taking Off' album. It describes why I wear the bow," Watkins said. "We're doing it in the show live at the moment. I put on all these funny red wigs with lots of different color bows in them and in the end I end up with my yellow bow, which is quite nice. In the song it says, "One day we went walking on a windy day. Emma's hair went crazy so she needed hair spray. To save the environment she went the other way, and that's why she wears a bow to this day."
Tickets are still available for the Wiggles' performance on Long Island. New York music fans shouldn't feel shy about bringing beautiful bow presents for Ms. Watkins.
"One family made a sign that was in the shape of a bow and it went on a very, very big extendible pole, and it had flashing lights on it, it was so high-tech," she said with a grin.
